CDSL Demat Account Login Process

CDSL (Central Depository Services Limited) — established in 1999 and now serving over 12 crore demat accounts — operates India’s largest depository by account count. Its investor-facing portals — Easi (Enquiry and Statement of Account) for holdings verification and Easiest (Electronic Access to Securities Information and Execution of Secured Transaction) for online share transfers — give every CDSL demat account holder direct depository access outside the broker ecosystem. Additionally, CDSL’s myeasi mobile app provides smartphone-based access to the same services.

CDSL Easi — Holdings Enquiry Login

Easi is the read-only portal — for viewing current holdings, transaction history, account statements, and pledge positions. It does not allow transfer instructions. Easi login after registration provides the investor’s official CDSL record — independent verification of what the broker’s platform displays.

Step 1 — Register for Easi. Visit web.cdslindia.com. Click “Easi” and select “Register.” Enter your 16-digit BO ID (DP ID + Client ID), name, date of birth, PAN, registered email, and mobile number. Submit the online registration form. CDSL sends your Easi login credentials to the registered email within 2 to 3 business days.

Step 2 — Log In. Return to web.cdslindia.com → Easi. Enter your BO ID as the username and the password created during registration. Complete OTP verification to your registered mobile.

Step 3 — View Holdings and Statements. The Easi dashboard shows your current demat holdings with ISIN, quantity, available and pledged balance, and last transaction date. Navigate to Account Statement for downloadable holding reports and transaction history.

CDSL Easiest — Online Share Transfer Login

Easiest adds transaction capability to Easi — allowing investors to submit off-market transfer instructions (CDSL to CDSL only) directly without physical DIS submission.

Step 1 — Register for Easiest. Visit web.cdslindia.com → Easiest. Click Register and complete the online form. Print the completed form and submit it to your broker’s DP office for verification. After the broker forwards it to CDSL, your Easiest login credentials are emailed to you within 2 to 5 business days.

Step 2 — Log In. Visit web.cdslindia.com → Easiest. Enter your BO ID and Easiest password. Complete OTP verification.

Step 3 — Add Beneficiary and Initiate Transfer. Navigate to Setup → Add Beneficiary Account. Enter the target demat account’s DP ID and Client ID. After the beneficiary is activated (24 hours), go to Transaction → Off-Market Transfer. Enter the ISIN and quantity, authenticate with OTP, and confirm.

CDSL myeasi Mobile App

CDSL’s myeasi app consolidates Easi and Easiest functionality in a mobile interface. Download from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Register with your BO ID and mobile OTP. After registration, log in with your BO ID, password, and mobile OTP. View holdings, download statements, and initiate share transfers from your smartphone.

Forgotten BO ID Recovery

On the Easi or Easiest login page, click “Forgot BO ID.” Enter your PAN card number and date of birth. An OTP is sent to your registered mobile for verification. Your BO ID is displayed on screen after successful authentication.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1. What is the difference between CDSL Easi and Easiest?

Easi is for viewing holdings and downloading statements — read-only access. Easiest adds transaction capability — allowing online share transfer instructions from CDSL to CDSL accounts.

Q2. Is CDSL Easi registration separate from my broker registration?

Yes — Easi and Easiest are separate registrations at CDSL. Your broker login credentials do not work on CDSL’s portals. Each requires independent registration.

Q3. What is the CDSL official login URL?

web.cdslindia.com — always verify this URL before entering credentials. The myeasi mobile app is the official CDSL smartphone equivalent.

Q4. Can I transfer shares to an NSDL account using CDSL Easiest?

No — CDSL Easiest only supports CDSL-to-CDSL off-market transfers. Cross-depository transfers (CDSL to NSDL) require the offline DIS route.

Q5. How long does CDSL Easiest registration take?

After submitting the registration form to your broker, who forwards it to CDSL, activation and credential delivery takes 2 to 5 business days. The subsequent beneficiary account activation after adding a target account takes an additional 24 hours.
